Celebrating the 4th of July on the 3rd at Italian American Civic Association, Vero Beach, FL

IACAVBPhotos 006The 4th of July 2017 celebrating started early at The Italian American Civic Association of Vero Beach, 1600 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida. The Club presented an American Independence Day event at the club on July 3, 2017 at 3 pm, which was open to the public.  Club officers and Brett Marion, manager of the club bar, prepared an enjoyable event attended by about sixty guests, including the GetShotByElla.com team. The cover charge was $5.00 and attendees brought a smorgasbord of delicious dishes to share. GetShotByElla.com spots Mermaid down by the river

It’s was worth the trip, north or south, on US 1 in Florida to see the Mermaid that suddenly appeared at the site of the former Sebastian dive shop, 1716 US Highway 1, Sebastian, FL . The Mermaid was the final addition to artist Dan Turcotte’s 44 foot riverscape mural on the US 1 facing side of the building.  For art lovers, water sports enthusiasts, beach dreamers, just chillin’ out vacationers, and all those in quest of a good myth, Turcotte’s Mermaid and riverscape mural was a must see jewel in downtown Sebastian.

Just as the ocean creeps up and reclaims her treasures on the shore, the mural is gone now, and a newly repainted business occupies the site of Turcotte’s former gallery. But the lovely Mermaid is captured in the photo above as Shot By Ella Photoart, LLC.

Mike Policare, GetShotByElla.com team member, catches up on events at the Italian American Civic Association of Vero Beach (1600 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida) with Brett Marion, manager of the club bar. Policare is a long time member of the IACA.

Outside it’s a rainy Wednesday evening, but inside the IACA it’s all about fresh and delicious Italian food. Dinner is served at the club every Wednesday evening from 4:30 to 7 pm with a varied menu of authentic Italian selections prepared with great care and attention by the club’s chefs. Wednesday night dinners are open to the public and prices on all items are incredibly reasonable. Dining room attire is Florida formal: collared shirt, no jeans.

Locals and visitors who enjoy the annual IACA festival held every spring will find on a smaller scale some of the same wonderful foods featured at the festivals: including pizzas, calzone’s, stromboli’s, meatballs and pastas.
