Harak Rubio speaks to guests at A New Language exhibit of his work at Raw Space gallery, Vero Beach, FL.

It was an uplifting and inspired night for art in the quiet beach side town of Vero Beach, FL. Fine artist and sculptor Harak Rubio presented Artist Talk with Harak at Raw Space gallery, 1795 Old Dixie Hwy, Vero Beach, FL on March 22, 2019 from 6 until 9 pm.

The twilight hour cast a magical spell on Harak’s paintings as guests arrived for the event. Several of Harak’s harmonious and well composed sculptures also graced the gallery, including one stunning piece entitled “Guardian.”

The personable and engaging artist spoke individually and in small groups to those gathered for the evening, sharing his experiences and inspirations and answering questions about individual pieces and his collective art works and sculptures. 

53761998_644261466002428_6936218444685639680_n HRHarak, who hales originally from Puerto Rico, exhibited his abstract paintings and sculpture at Raw Space during the month of March 2019. His works were featured in A New Language, a joint exhibit with his father, internationally renowned sculptor and artist Pablo Rubio.

Harak has developed over ten large format sculptures in North and South America, participated in numerous shows worldwide and collected many awards for his art on this journey. In 2018, his art was on exhibition in Frankfort, Germany. Harak is also accomplished in film, video production and advertising.

Pablo Rubio, Harak’s father, is widely renowned for his impressive public sculptures, ranging from Puerto Rico and the continental US to Korea, Venezuela and Ecuador. He is a professor in the fine arts department at the University of Puerto Rico and has been a much respected mentor of young artists for over three decades. Pablo had several of his celebrated sculptures on display in A New Language.
