What started out in 2015 with the goal of getting 70 golfers to play in a tournament to benefit veterans in Indian River County, Florida, has turned into the biggest golf tournament in the county. GetShotByElla.com creator Ella Chabot discusses the Saturday, June 18, 2022 Mary Snyder Annual Golf Tournament, to benefit Indian River County veterans with Curtis Paulisin, chairman of the event, during a Wednesday pasta night at the Italian Club, Vero Beach, FL.
The tournament commences the morning of June 18 at Sandridge Golf Club, 5300 73rd Street, Vero Beach, FL with a 7 am registration, followed by an 8 am shotgun start – scramble format. Lunch and an awards ceremony immediately follow the golf at the Indian River County Fairgrounds, 7955 58th Street, Vero Beach, FL. The cost is $75 per golfer, payable to the Vietnam Veterans of Indian River County, Inc and includes 18 holes of golf, a golf cart, the awards ceremony and lunch. Co-hosted by the Vietnam Veterans of Indian River County, Inc and the Veterans of Indian River County, Inc, the event is organized by Paulisin, President of the Veterans of Indian River County, Inc (ircveterans.godaddysites.com), in collaboration with event vice chair Vic Diaz, co-founder of the Vietnam Veterans of Indian River County (vvirc.org). Funds raised by the event will stay in Indian River County and support housing for homeless and soon to be homeless veterans, including the recently launched project to build a new facility for female veterans.
